Jafar Tayyar Cooperative Housing Society** in Karachi.

 A major case of alleged fraud has been uncovered in the **Jafar Tayyar Cooperative Housing Society** in Karachi. The irregularities were exposed by the newly appointed Government Administrator **Bashir Ahmed**, who revealed that hundreds of fake membership files had been created within the society.

According to reports, **Bashir Ahmed**, who has recently been appointed as the official administrator of the society, took charge of the office along with his assistants **Syed Nasir Abbas** and **Iftikhar Hussain**. During a detailed inspection of the society’s records and membership files, they discovered serious discrepancies.
The investigation revealed that the number of society members had **suddenly increased from around 1,800 to approximately 2,600**, indicating that nearly **700 fake membership files** had been created. However, the total number of **registered plots in the society is only about 1,800**, which had already been allocated to legitimate members.
This raised serious concerns that the additional membership files were created illegally in an attempt to manipulate the society’s **election process and gain long-term control of the housing society**.
According to informed sources, the **Secretary of the Cooperative Department of the Government of Sindh, Qamar Raza Baloch**, issued an official notification on **March 6**, appointing **Grade-17 Sindh Local Government Council Officer Bashir Ahmed** as the **In-charge / Administrator of Jafar Tayyar Cooperative Housing Society**. With approval from higher authorities, two individuals were included in his committee: **Syed Nasir Abbas** and **Iftikhar Hussain**.
The notification also stated that a previous order appointing **Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies Karachi Naveed Ahmed Abbasi** as administrator had been withdrawn.
After assuming control of the society office, the new administrator and his team began a detailed review of all membership and plot records. During the review, they discovered the unusual increase of nearly **700 additional files**, which do not correspond with the number of registered plots in the society.
When contacted by reporters, **Syed Nasir Abbas**, the former experienced secretary of the society and now a member of the new committee, confirmed the findings. He stated that the number of files in the society’s records had increased by nearly **700 beyond the actual number of plots**, which strongly suggests that **fake memberships were created to influence society elections and illegally take control of the administration**.
He further stated that the new committee is carefully reviewing all records, plot files, and documentation with transparency and strict scrutiny. The investigation is ongoing, and those involved in **fraud, forgery, and illegal manipulation of society records will soon be identified**.
Authorities have indicated that **strict legal action will be taken against those responsible for the creation of fake files and fraudulent memberships**.
**Bashir Ahmed**, the administrator, emphasized that the purpose of the investigation is to **restore transparency, protect legitimate members, and ensure that the housing society operates according to legal regulations**.
